Colaiste Dhulaigh College of Further Education – Kilbarrack Campus is open for students
Coláiste Dhulaigh College of Further Education has recently opened the doors of its Kilbarrack Campus, which used to be Greendale Community School. Since last September Coláiste Dhulaigh CFE have been upgrading the building to be ready for students in the coming September. It is located beside the Kilbarrack Dart Station.
Last January the Performing Arts Department moved down to Kilbarrack. They have a three year course in Theatre Studies which encompass a FETAC Level 5 Award in Year one and a Higher National Diploma in Year 2 and 3 which allows students Advanced Entry to various degree courses in the U.K. This course equips students with personal acting techniques and professional skills which will allow them work in theatre, television or film or continue with further education.
Next September the Business Department are moving to Kilbarrack. This Department has a two year Advanced Certificate in Business Studies (FETAC Level 6), a two year Advanced Certificate in Marketing Management & Media Analysis (FETAC Level 6) and a one year Office Management and Communication course (FETAC Level 5). There is also a VTOS Business, Computers and Languages course which runs over two years and is a FETAC Level 5 Certificate. The Business courses give students the opportunity to study a broad range of business related subjects which allows students the widest possible range of career choices. There is a link established with DCU for students with a level 6 to apply for advanced entry to second year of their three year degree course in Business.
Next September will see Coláiste Dhulaigh CFE establish three new courses in Kilbarrack. They are Fashion Design, a two year FETAC Level 6 Advanced Certificate, Health Science (Physiology and Sport), a one year FETAC Level 5 Certificate and Fine Art which is a Level 6 FETAC Award. The Fashion Design course introduces students to the creative, exciting world of fashion Design. The Health Science course introduces students to the broad and expanding area of Sport Science and Physiology. The Fine Arts course will provide a studio environment which will allow learners to expand their development in drawing and painting.
