OPTION A: Language & European Studies
FETAC Award (Level 5 – ELESX)
This is a one year course which encompasses two languages, French and German at beginners and advanced level. It also offers Cultural Studies, computer applications and a business module. It is intended for students who have an interest in European cultures and languages, with the view to using language in their career or for travel. There is the opportunity of taking a three week work placement abroad.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Leaving Certificate (including German or French) and interview.
CAREER OPPORTUNITIES
The course equips students with skills for careers in Business Administration, such as Travel, Tourism, Civil Service, Insurance Companies and Financial Institutions.
OPTION B: Pre-University Languages

DCU - Exam Board
In addition to obtaining a full FETAC level 5 award, the students who select this option will be given the opportunity to prepare for entry into the linked designated degree courses in DCU. The course prepares students for entry to the first year of the following Degree course offered by the faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in DCU.
DCU - Dublin City University B.A. in Applied Languages and Intercultural Studies (French/German/Spanish/Japanese).
CERTIFICATION
Examinations and assessments are conducted with external monitoring by Dublin City University.

COLLEGE LINKS & CAREER OPPORTUNITIES
Students who meet the entry criteria in DCU will receive a round zero offer from the CAO for the relevant degree choice.
