FETAC Award (Level 5 – 5M5011)
The course in Business & Tourism includes the study of all aspects of the Tourism Industry, providing students with the skills necessary to gaining employment in this ever expanding area.
In addition to providing a good grounding in the Tourism Industry, students will also get the opportunity to obtain the Galileo examination – which is the industry recognised ticketing system.
Course Content
Customer Service, Tourism Awareness, Appreciation of Irish Culture, Ticketing Procedures, Communications, Marketing, Information Technology and Work Placement.
ENTRY requirements
Leaving Certificate (including LCA) and interview.
CAREER OPPORTUNITIES
This course will qualify you to work in many areas of the Tourism Industry, including the Airline, Travel Agency and Hotel Industries.
College Links/Progression
Students can progress to Year 2 of the Travel and Tourism Course and may by doing so, gain advanced entry to Year 2 of the Tourism Degree at D.I.T. Students may also gain entry to Year 1 of various Tourism Degrees at the Institutes of Technology.
