The belief that people, design and the environments surrounding them all connect together is the fundamental idea behind interior and spatial design. The designer plays an active role in the creation of aesthetically pleasing, efficient and functional environments that serve the needs of contemporary living. This course introduces students to the world of design - commercial and domestic interior design, sustainable architectural design, furniture and lighting design and set design and retail and exhibition design.
The course is aimed to provide students with a broad range of skills and the knowledge required to work in the design industry as an interior and spatial designer both nationally and internationally.
Progression into third level degree courses is recommended and students are encouraged to produce high standard portfolios to achieve advanced entry into degree courses.
