This course, which is for beginners and the experienced, aims to introduce you to the world of design – interiors, furniture design, lighting, set design. You will work in a stimulating, practical environment and learn in the company of established designers. Don’t worry if your school experience is in the distant past. This course has been designed to suit your needs. You will be encouraged to develop your own portfolio.
Course content
Design Principles, Drawing, Colour, Texture, Pattern, Materials and Finishes, History of Interior Design, Business Studies, Computers, Visits to Galleries, Museums and Buildings of Historical Interest.
CERTIFICATION
FETAC Level 5
DURATION
2 Years.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
All students who present for these courses will be given individual guidance by qualified tutors who are in a position to make recommendations as to what courses may suit their learning needs.
PROGRESSION
Successful students may progress through several qualifications at their own pace on other courses in Coláiste Dhúlaigh College of Further Education (see PLC section). For example:
1. Higher National Diploma – Interior Design
2. BA Hons – Interior Design (University of Ulster)
3. BA Hons – Griffith College, Dublin
