VTOS
What is VTOS?
VTOS means “Vocational Training Opportunities Scheme”. VTOS gives unemployed adults the opportunity of returning to full time education and remain in benefit.
VTOS APPLICANTS
Applicants must be:
- aged 21 or over;
- unemployed for at least six months;
-
in receipt of social welfare benefits i.e.Unemployment Benefit, Unemployment Assistance, One Parent Family Payment
Allowance, Disability Allowance or Benefit, Invalidity Benefit, Dependent Spouse Benefit, Job Initiative Schemes, Credits, FÁS Schemes.
If none of the above categories apply to you, please enquire at the college for further information.
VTOS…THE FACTS
Take up the VTOS challenge and immediately the benefits to
you are:
- getting back to education
- payments equal to your social welfare benefits
- lunch and travel allowances
- no fees
- free books
- a bonus payment of €20 is payable if you have been in receipt of an eligible social welfare payment for at least one year directly before you join VTOS
